It has been a pretty quiet day today. We hiked south-bound along the river this morning, and then picked up a small tributary and hiked east-bound along that waterway for several hours. The tributary brought us to a series of large swamps. We hiked through a couple of the swamps without seeing any elephants, and then returned to the main trail that takes us back to our camp, which is about a three-hour hike from here.
All along our hike we found a lot of elephant tracks. Unfortunately, most of them were a week or more old. I still think we have a chance of finding an animal here, and I think we can use the next three days effectively.
