Current Sea Turtle Locations
Catherine McClellan is currently using satellite telemetry to monitor the locations of sea turtles in the Atlantic Ocean. The most up-to-date location for each turtle is posted in this section. Also available is a downloadable file (Microsoft Excel) containing the most recent turtle locations.

Summer 2006 Sea Turtle Tracking
Catherine McClellan brings Field Trip Earth up-to-date on her sea turtle tracking work. She has released greens and loggerheads off the coast of North Carolina, and is working with both satellite and ultrasonic tracking technologies.

November 2004 Sea Turtle Tracking
Turtle researcher Catherine McClellan released a group of loggerhead turtles in Pamlico Sound, North Carolina in November 2004. Using satellite telemetry, she will track these turtles as they migrate out of the sound.

Satellite Tracking Sea Turtles
Researchers at the Duke University Marine Lab in Beaufort, North Carolina are using satellites to track sea turtles. By monitoring their movements over several months, they hope to better understand how to protect this endangered species.
